Complaints Procedure

Evolve Counselling aims to provide a professional, respectful, and ethical service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, we encourage concerns to be raised as early as possible.

Step 1: Raise the concern with your therapist

In the first instance, we encourage you to speak directly with your therapist about your concern, if you feel able to do so. Many difficulties can be resolved through open conversation.

Step 2: External complaints routes

Evolve Counselling operates as a collective of self-employed therapists. Each therapist is individually responsible for their professional practice and is registered with, or accountable to, a professional body.

If you remain dissatisfied, or do not feel able to raise the concern directly, you may contact the relevant professional body for the therapist you are working with:

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
    www.bacp.co.uk
For therapists registered or accredited with BACP

  • Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA)
    www.cosca.org.uk
For therapists registered or accredited with COSCA

These organisations have formal complaints procedures and independent investigation processes.
