about counselling

Evolve Counselling: Relationship Counselling for Couples & Individuals. Counselling & theraphy for Grief, Depression, Stress, Anxiety. Based in Inverness & Highlands

For many people the idea of speaking to a counsellor can be intimidating or even frightening. Essentially professional counselling is a conversation in a safe environment with a trained listener who can help you, as a couple or an individual, to examine and explore the troubling areas that have brought you to counselling.

The client's interests are at the heart of all our counselling work. Evolve provides a safe, confidential environment for you to explore relationship issues and get the support you need from a professional, qualified and experienced counsellor.

We offer counselling to couples or individuals experiencing relationship problems. We also provide counselling for depression, anxiety, grief, stress amongst many other issues. Our counselling is available to anyone over 16, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion.

Our counselling involves meeting with a therapist for a session in a therapeutic setting which lasts for 50 minutes, the number of sessions will vary depending on your particular needs.

Evolve Couple Counselling Inverness & Highlands

Our relationships are the foundation of our lives, but sometimes we all struggle with them. Professional counselling can make a difference. If you feel confused, trapped, uncertain, unable to make a change, or just want to understand what’s going on, couple counselling can help.

Evolve counselling provides individuals or couples experiencing problems in their relationship the chance to look at what's happening in a supportive, non-judgemental setting with a professionally qualified counsellor, based in the Highlands of Scotland.

After many months of procrastination due to fear, I arranged for counselling with my husband and within a few sessions, our relationship was changing and developing. Our Counsellor created a space where both of us felt respected and safe to express ourselves freely and encouraging us to dig deep, which was definitely needed for where we were at in our relationship

Making the decision to see a therapist is a big step forward in dealing with what is troubling you and it can be difficult to know where to start. Finding the right therapist for you is an important first step.

I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 10 years’ experience and provide a safe, ethical and confidential service. I have worked with clients across a wide range of ages and backgrounds and my experience includes both specialist couples’ therapy and work within a general counselling service helping clients with a wide range of issues such as anxiety and depression, stress, confidence and self-esteem, history of childhood abuse, family problems etc. Whatever it is that is troubling you, you don’t need to go through it alone.

I use an integrative approach to counselling, drawing on a wide range of theoretical backgrounds but always with the needs of the individual at the forefront. I work with the person, not with a diagnosis or label and can therefore work with whatever issues you bring.

I aim to provide a comfortable and supportive environment, where we work through what is troubling you at your own pace. You will be listened to, accepted and respected regardless of what you tell me. I will not tell you what to do, but will do my best to support you in working through any difficulties you may be experiencing and to give you the space to make the decisions that are right for you.

My qualifications include Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Aberdeen University and a specialist Diploma in Relationship Counselling from York St John University. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the BACP Ethical framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Please get in touch if you have any questions, and I will do my best to answer them. I will aim to get back to you within 24 hours of contacting me. Please be aware that my phone will be on silent when I’m working.
